I am currently a statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau, where I manage national housing surveys. My work spans statistical programming, data processing, visualization, and project management. Some of my key responsibilities include:
- Develop Tableau dashboards, R Markdown reports, and Excel reports for executive leadership to monitor survey metrics, identify data quality issues, and inform operational decisions.
- Lead a team of two analysts and collaborate with 50+ staff to support survey management activities including large-scale data collection, processing, quality control, analysis, and data dissemination.
- Manage an 8-person cross-functional team of statisticians and programmers responsible for data processing and public data releases (SOMA, AHS).
- Write and optimize SAS programs to automate quality checks, streamline data review, and support project-specific requests.
- Author technical specifications for new datasets or data processing needs, overseeing implementation and quality review.
- Lead projects including statistical modeling of historical survey data to identify high-priority survey units, geocoding survey data, and compiling historical survey datasets for increased data usability.
- Drive modernization initiatives such as updating survey datasets for Census API integration and rebuilding survey instruments and data architecture to improve data integrity, standardization, efficiency, and scalability.
- Develop training materials and reference guides for regional and field staff; present in both management and training capacities.

Technical Solutions Engineer- Team Lead, Epic Systems

Prior to my current role, I worked on the Population Health team at Epic Systems, supporting software for quality reporting, VBC/ACO programs, claims-based reporting, care management, preventive care tools, immunization schedules, and other population health initiatives. My responsibilities included:
Technical & Analytical Work:
- Analyzed system data to identify root causes of performance or configuration issues and created workflows or software solutions to meet client needs.
- Supported data warehouse processing and developed SQL/Tableau reports for regulatory executives to make high-impact financial and operational decisions.
- Supporting other software projects, such as leading a system-wide configuration audit initiative that prompted 100+ clients to update outdated code, or developing pandemic response software tools used by 200+ healthcare systems for population identification, tracking, and reporting.
- Designed and delivered a training course for 150+ employees on a new software product and complex data structure, reducing client escalations and increasing user confidence.
- Presented software updates in large team meetings (200+ attendees) and coordinated/presented at a major conference attended by 3,500 participants.
- Managed a group of cross-role team members (Developers, Quality Assurance, Implementation, Technical Solution Engineers, and Communication) to ensure new development was aligned with customer needs and Epic staff were proactively prepared to support new development.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Served as the primary technical contact for healthcare clients, partnering to understand workflows, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.
- Met regularly with executive stakeholders to recommend solutions aligned with organizational goals and translated technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Leadership & Staffing:
- Led a team of six, overseeing support for 30+ clients ensuring high-quality service delivery; regularly engaged with clients to ensure performance and software met expectations.
- Oversaw staffing for a 60+ person team, ensuring 100+ new client projects were staffed on time, employee workloads remained sustainable, and new staffing allocation needs were being met.
- Conducted attrition and capacity analyses to identify resourcing gaps, influencing leadership to allocate 15 additional hires to meet team demands.
